CareersContact us Scientist/Research Associate Overall Responsibility: Our Company is seeking a highly motivated, experienced scientist or research associate to join the Pharmaceutical Development group at our early-stage pharmaceutical company to provide technical leadership and hands-on performance. The ideal candidate will have expertise in solid-state chemistry of pharmaceuticals, ideally with experience with modified-release technologies and DEA Scheduled Drugs. Key Tasks and Responsibilities: •Design, conduct and coordinate scientific studies to drive the development of our different products •Perform and coordinate testing of products •Work closely with formulation scientists to develop robust formulations in support of development projects; •Identify and successfully manage external partners •Generate pharmaceutical development reports; •Participate in the development of the Company intellectual property portfolio; •Maintain a comprehensive understanding and review of pertinent scientific literature. Skills and Attributes: •Knowledge of formulation and process development of solid-based pharmaceutical products; •Experience with modified release drugs and DEA Scheduled drugs. •Proven technical skills on standard analytical equipment (HPLC, dissolution apparatus, UV, pH-meter, etc.) •Excellent technical laboratory skills; strong attention to detail. •Reliable, self-motivated individual with positive attitude and demonstrated ability to design experiments and interpret data independently; •Willingness to learn new skills and contribute outside of specific area of expertise; •Conduct searches on identified topics relevant to the research; •Team-oriented with ability to work with junior and senior staff; •Strong oral and written communication skills to present results to senior colleagues •Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks to meet tight timelines and shifting priorities; •Willingness to work in a small fast-paced diverse environment Education and Experience: •B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field •1-5+ years of relevant industry experience in biotech/pharmaceutical R&D in the US.
